We are, The Friends of Minehead Station (FoMS) we were formed in 1996 with the aim of looking after the fabric of historic Minehead Station, a Grade II listed building, the Jewell in the crown of the West Somerset Railway.
We look after the “public” areas of the station environs, and keep the place looking smart and colourful.
We are entirely volunteer organisation, we work in partnership with the West Somerset Railway Plc for the purpose of preserving and restoring the station and buildings in and around Minehead Station area.
Our members get involved in all sorts of activities around the station, working in our second hand book shop, Readers Halt, keeping the grounds tidy and doing the gardening; even day to day maintenance of the station and the grounds comes under our caring umbrella.
